Kevin started his career at Preston North End as a teenager under the stewardship of David Moyes. He played over 50 games for the club before moving to West Brom and in the process becoming their first ever million pound plus player, paying £1.25m for the gifted 20 year old.
Whilst his career was mainly in the lower division he was still young and two years after joining west brom he earned himself a £2.5m move to Sunderland and a chance to play in the premiership.
This was not the happiest time for Kevin with the fans on his back towards the end of his stay. He finally ended this chapter in his career when in 2003 he was one of 16 Sunderland players to leave the club. Widely blamed for Sunderland's relegation he was offered another chance at Everton.
Kilbane's silky skills and foraging runs down the left wing have earned him the name of Zinedine Kilbane amongst the Goodison faithful. Never a prolific goalscorer the 6ft player has scored 3 times for Everton since his move.
